Girls in the Boat Auditions
The 26th and 27th in 217 at lunch and after school
Auditions will be held on August 26 and 27 in Room 217 lunch and afterschool. You only need to attend one of these days and times! We recommend going earlier rather than later. If you see a lot of people waiting outside, you may want to plan to audition another time. A callback will be held for select people on August 30 at lunch. Further information about this will be posted following the audition.
For the initial audition, please prepare one monologue of your choice (preferably between 1.5 minutes and 2.5 minutes) in the style of your choosing). The style of the monologue and the character you’re portraying should mirror what kind of character you’re interested in being considered for. For example, if someone wanted to play a loud, confident diva, they should go with a Regina George (from Mean Girls) monologue, rather than a Martha Dunstock (from Heathers) monologue. Please do not prepare anything written by William Shakespeare. Monologues should be memorized. If you are unsure of what to prepare, using one of your LACHSA audition monologues is a good option. You will also fill out a google form before your audition. The link for that will be given out at the audition itself while you’re waiting for your turn. What to prepare for callbacks will be released at a later time.
